A-Z Archive; Z – Zechin

Frizztext’s A-Z Archive challenge this week was the letter Z. For more information on this challenge go to http://flickrcomments.wordpress.com/gallery/

Once again I delved into the dictionary and had to go deep, really deep into the archives to find something suitable.

Zechin or sequin: meaning a small plate of shining metal or plastic used for ornamentation especially on clothing.

Back in the days when I had 3 young girls with dollies to be clothed I had a large biscuit tin filled with these little gems. It’s been a long time since I made any Barbie clothes but I kept our collection of beads and sequins and used them for a still-life shot, one rainy day, when I had nothing better to do.
