Making homemade jam is almost a lost art. I remember sitting in the kitchen watching my mom and my grandmother canning and waiting for the goodies that came out of their kitchen. Sometimes, like when they canned the jams and jellies, we would always get to lick the bowls and wow, was it delicious. 🙂 Canning didn’t always start there. Canning was the culumination of hours of work in the garden, or maybe the long walks with dad in the woods looking for treats that could be saved and enjoyed in the cold winter months. So, I’m learning from my mom who learned from her mom down through the generations and I pass it on to you. So, lets make some jam. 🙂

Recipe:

  • 2 1/2 quarts of picked whole berries (which is about 5 cups crushed berries)
  • 7 cups of sugar
